Show Notes

People usually become healthcare advocates after experiencing their own personal health challenges, losing a loved one, or becoming aware about health inequities that ignite them to want to find solutions. After the loss of her husband, Chadwick Boseman, Simone Ledward-Boseman used the knowledge she gained as a colorectal cancer caregiver to ensure that her loved ones would be equipped with patient navigation tools and diligent about staying on top of their health. During their journey she was able to see new sides of Chadwick and how he never allowed his diagnosis to hold him back and in the process of caregiving, she also learned about her own inner strength. Listen as she shares with us about her undeniable sense of responsibility to help others advocate for themselves and take their care into their own hands.

This season is brought to you as a collaboration between Patient Advocate Foundation and Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center at Virginia Commonwealth University, a project made possible in part by support from the Danaher Foundation.
